‘Christmas Carol’ and carol singing at Preston Community Library, 20-22 Dec.

A’Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens will be read in public over two days at the reading room at Preston Community Library.

This is a Preston Community Library and Friends of Preston Library Event at 235 Preston Rd( 2 mins. Preston Road Station). Commencing this Thursday 20 Dec. 2-4pm and continuing on Friday 21st Dec. 2-4pm.

The end of the reading on Friday will be followed by library Christmas carols in the street.

And come and join in carol singing on Saturday morning (22 Dec.) in Preston Road, near Preston Road Station at 11am. There will be a specially composed ‘Save the Libraries Carol’.

Readers of ‘A Christmas Carol’ will read for ten minute and twenty-minute slots as they wish; all are invited to come by and take part: phone 07980154858 should you wish to reserve a slot or just turn up and a slot will be gladly found. Or simply turn up and enjoy the marathon reading!

We will be using Charles Dickens own reading edition of the book which he used to fund sums for educational and other deserving causes.

Victorian costume optional!

Actors and writers from across Brent will be joining residents in this important festive event as the Campaign for the libraries enters its third year!

All children and adults welcome!
