More details on when the judgement will be handed down
Thank you to all the hardy volunteers who have turned up to keep the pop up library going. Fantastic commitment in this awful cold weather.
Should you like to join in just let me know or pop along to the library and put your name on the roster. All help welcome.
The International press continue to be interested in our campaign and two articles (France Presse and Emirates 24/7) mentioned our pop up library:
Candlelight Carol Singing at the Library
Wednesday 21st December starts 6.30pm, continues for about an hour.
Please come and join in communal Christmas Carol singing at the popup Library. Bring candles or tea lights in jam jars and carol songbooks if you have them (though we will also have some to share).
If you play a musical instrument and can play some carols, bring it along. Cakes and mulled wine will be on sale and no doubt a donation bucket will be passed around.
You don’t have to be any good at singing.
Everyone is welcome.
It’s going to be lovely.
Don’t forget that you can send a submission to the parliamentary select committee on the effects on the community of losing our library.
The Kensal Rise campaign will be combining with the other six libraries in Brent to prepare a submission and we will also be sending one from our own campaign.
The deadline for submissions is 12 January.
As the campaign moves into its second year many thanks are due to the continued support from everyone and also the hard work put into keeping the campaign alive. There’s no doubt about the ‘staying power’ of Kensal Green/Kensal Rise. There’s also no doubt about the the positive aspects of the campaign on our community.
We’ve won plenty whatever the outcome of the Appeal.
See you all at the carol sing out!
