Consultation result: don’t close our libraries!

Brent Town HallThe library consultation result is out, and the message from respondents across Brent is clear – don’t close our libraries!

And as if our campaign wasn’t already loud enough, over 37% of the respondents were Kensal Rise Library users. This is a fantastic achievement!

Unfortunately, local councillor James Powney, who is also responsible for libraries, has now deemed that the consultation document is “skewed” – because 37% of the respondents use Kensal Rise Library! Powney is still set on closing our library. Stop him by writing to Council Leader Ann John (cllr.ann.john@brent.gov.uk) and other members of the executive. Urge them to take into account the results of Brent’s own consultation process. The council decide on Monday April 11th.

  1. The Mayor has agreed to an Extraordinary Council Meeting on the Library Closures on April 13th – 2 days after the Executive makes its decision. http://www.wembleymattersblogspot.com
